Volunteering

Start in Salford offers members accredited courses leading to in house and outreach volunteering, buddying and mentoring.

Outcomes and exit routes:

• Volunteering opportunities within external organisations
• Volunteering opportunities within Salford Seamless Solutions development

Start has a comprehensive volunteering programme offering volunteering opportunities within all creative departments as well as house-keeping and office administration.

Start has recently gained Centre Approval through ASDAN to offer a Level 1 Certificate in Community Volunteering to existing volunteers on the project and also to members who would like to explore volunteering opportunities in the local community.

A volunteer focus group made up of internal and external volunteers meets every couple of months here at Start in order to offer advice on developing/enhancing the existing volunteering programme.

Start also hosts Quarterly volunteer meetings to allow volunteers to be kept up to date on volunteering in general; also it is an opportunity to meet other volunteers.

Start has recently offered volunteer training in the areas of Mental Health Awareness and Volunteering and Diversity.
