What we do in Ceramics sessions

When members first start ceramics they begin with a 'Taster' session, where they can experiment with and explore different techniques, from rolling clay, to looking at texture and pattern, to hand and slab building. Coiling and glazing techniques are also looked at. A variety of outcomes are achieved from tiles to vessels.

Members then progress to an Entry Level qualification where they start to develop and realise their own ideas. There is then the opportunity to take a Level 1 qualification, where they can hone their skills and further develop their own style.

The ceramics department also has an income generation group, which produces a variety of quality hand made items, including earrings and brooches, as well as vases and decorations. These are sold at various outlets around the North West.
