Members! design a banna for 'our space'

'Our space' is the members area on this website – members are invited to design a new banner for the top of the page. You might want to create an original piece of art to be scanned, crop an existing image or generate something on the computer. The final size of the banner will be width 700px by height 200px at 72dpi, images are to be submitted at this size but remember it is always a good idea to scan or create your master image at a higher resolution and then make a copy for the web.

Celebrating World Mental Health Day 2008

World Mental Health Day is a specific day each year which focuses on mental health, and celebrates the positive work that is being carried out in the mental health field.

In response to World Mental Health Day, Salford hosted a number of events which took place throughout the week, culminating with an event on Friday the 10th October 2008 at Princes Park, Salford.

Start celebrates in a Winter Wonderland

Members, volunteers, board members and staff all joined together in December for a huge Christmas event. The ‘Winter Wonderland’ saw the garden magically transformed by lanterns and fairly lights and a large marquee was erected in the car park.

Entertainment was aplenty, with Choir singers, Indian Dancers and a performance from our band, Starting Point. Hot food and non-alcoholic mulled wine was provided and everyone had a fantastic time.

Start a sell-out at Christmas Market

As in Previous years Start once again secured a stall for two weeks in Albert Square at the Manchester Christmas Markets 2008. The items for sale looked spectacular within the stand constructed by the Woodwork department.

Staff, volunteers and board members all worked extremely hard to ensure the stall was a success.
