'A landmark in the landscape'

The therapeutic and educational benefits of gardening are well documented particularly by the research carried out by Thrive and Loughborough University.

Here at START we commissioned a book that documents a year in the life of our gardening group, aptly titled by one of our members 'A landmark in the landscape'. The publication beautifully illustrates the meaning and the benefits of engaging in a community horticultural project and the impact it has on individual’s social, physical and mental and emotional wellbeing. Transcribed interviews and photographs taken by the members and truly capture the essence of the project.

To give the wider public an opportunity to find out more about our Garden Project and to promote our artists we are having an art exhibition at Tatton Park in 2009. This exhibition will showcase the professional standard of creative arts and crafts of our members. The exhibition will be taking place from 2nd July for two weeks.
