'Satellite City' exhibition

The 'Satellite City' exhibition at Salford Museum and Art Gallery was a huge success and was really well received. This was a collaborative exhibition with all the departments in the Core project and Creative Start 50+, Youth Arts Inclusion and Arts on Prescription members contributing toward it.
The Exhibition was based on the theme of the Changing Face of Salford and made a contemporary comment on Salford’s past, present and future. The Visual Arts department produced three pieces a large triptych based on Trinity Church, relief pieces illustrating the Salford Quays and a large light Box based on the River Irwell. The exhibition was an opportunity to showcase the work that is being produced at Start in Salford.
Ceramic Review Magasine reviewed 'Preserving the past' an installation of slip cast bone china jars as a "must see" in it's gallery review section as well as positive reviews from Zoe Whitely a curator from the V&A Museum in London; such great publicity and compliments from well respected people and magazines has a huge impact on members confidence and enthusiasm.
