Start in Salford involved in Digitales

Digitales

Exciting media events, which will be involving Start, are taking place this summer!

A collaboration between Goldsmiths, DiGem and the BBC have produced a concept called Digitales. Digitales will form 3 events which Start in Salford will be involved in.

The first event calls for Start in Salford members! Film maker Robert Smith will be working with members to show them how to produce a digital tale.
We are looking for 8 participants to be involved in a two day workshop, creating short digital stories using sound, photography and creative writing.

The Workshops will run on 16th and 17th June 9.30am-4.30pm.

The second event is linked to the first. The film that the 8 participants create will be given a special screening at Salford Lads Club!
This will be a fantastic setting to show the work to the people of Salford, and to attend a premiere of the member's work.

This screening will take place on 22nd June.

The final part of the Digitales scheme will be a talk held at the Imperial War Museum North. The discussion will be based on the emergence of MediaCity in Salford. Our Chief Executive Bernadette Conlon will be a speaker on the panel and they will also show selected films made by the different Salford groups.

The discussion takes place on 1st July 6.30-8.30pm.
