North West Mental Health Conference 2014
Sponsored by the School of Nursing, Midwifery, Social Work & Social Sciences at the University of Salford.
Tuesday 18th March 2014
@ Peel Hall, Peel Park Campus, The University of Salford
Mental health is now a key government priority. It is the largest cause of disability in the UK and costs the country £77 billion a year. Demand for mental health services are increasing as a result of the economic climate, and the UK government are under pressure to reduce levels of spending on public services; it is now vital that we make ‘Mental Health ‘Everyone’s Business’ to ensure our communities work together to tackle our nation’s problem.
This conference will explore mental & emotional wellbeing, from recognition and coping strategies to raising awareness; as well as the role that public and community care services have in supporting better health outcomes for people with mental health conditions.
Ruby Wax is our confirmed special guest speaker, making this event one not to be missed.

City Mayor of Salford, Ian Stewart
