"However you choose to help us - with your money, your talents or your time - it all goes a long way to helping someone get back on track"

Support Us

One in four of us will experience a mental health issue at some point in our lives. That’s why the work we do at START is vital in providing help for vulnerable members of our community, whenever they need it.

We rely on the generosity of our supporters in order to maintain and develop our service. Support may come in various forms but each and every person who gives something – no matter how big or small – plays an important role in transforming someone else’s life. For that we, and they, will always be grateful.

There are a number of ways you can support us:

Donate

Whether it’s a few pounds or much larger donation, your contribution will make a huge difference. You can donate safely and securely online (see the links on the right) or by popping a cheque in the post, made payable to ‘Start in Salford’. What people say about START...

“Start in Salford have been providing impactful, heartfelt support for the people of Salford for over 20 years. Their success in supporting some of the most vulnerable and excluded members of the community who suffer from various mental health conditions is down to the creative and inspiring ways in which the charity works with its members.”
Alistair Campbell, former Press Secretary to Tony Blair

“I give a small donation to Start in Salford each month by standing order. I like to support local charities that help local people, rather than always donating to large, national and international charities that often remind me more of private businesses….It’s great to think you are helping and supporting people, who live down the street or around the corner, with a problem that affects more of us than we would ever care to admit.”
D Aspinall

A monthly gift of £5 will provide the art materials for a member for a week

A one off gift of £84 will allow us to deliver a two hour taster session to some of the most vunerable people in our community

All of us at START would like to thank you for your support.
